
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Harry Miller’s absence from Ohio State football spring practice has brought Matthew Jones back to a familiar spot. Ohio State coach Ryan Day complimented Jones on his play at center, which he has not played much in recent years. It was, however, the position Jones played when he came out of Brooklyn’s Erasmus High School as the No. 68 overall player in the 247 Sports composite for the 2018 class. “So far, I’ve gotta give Matt credit — he’s done a nice job in there,” Day said. He’s done a really good job. He hasn’t really done a whole bunch of that leading into the season.” Jones by now is accustomed to stepping up with Ohio State needs help.
