Ohio State basketball gets Penn State transfer Jamari Wheeler

Just when you thought things might be relatively quiet with the roster for Ohio State hoops, we get word that the Buckeyes have landed Penn State transfer guard Jamari Wheeler. Wheeler already notched four years in Happy Valley but has decided to utilize the extra year of eligibility the NCAA has allowed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 6-foot, 170-pounder averaged 6.8 points, 3.5 assists, and 4.2 rebounds in 31.2 minutes of play his senior season. But where Wheeler may really make a difference for Ohio State is his ability to defend. He is known as an elite defender and created havoc against the OSU guards during a run in the second half of the first meeting between the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions.
