Ohio State football’s Justin Fields ‘showing off’ with Pro Day passing performance


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Justin Fields rolled out to his left, twisted his body slightly to set himself, then launched the ball around 70 yards in the air to hit C.J. Saunders in the corner of the end zone. Ohio State football’s Heisman Trophy finalist quarterback later called it the best throw of his performance at the Buckeyes’ Pro Day at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center on Tuesday. His former coach saw another example of what separates Fields from not only typical pro quarterbacks but good ones as well. “As a former quarterback, I probably would have broken my hip trying to throw that one,” OSU coach Ryan Day said. “… At the end, he really was kind of showing off, I thought — just driving the ball down the field with unbelievable accuracy.
