Former Buckeye Eddie George to be Tennessee State's new football coach, per reports

USA TODAY Former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George will replace Rod Reed as the football coach at Tennessee State, according to multiple reports. The Tennessean confirmed that Reed informed his team Saturday night that Sunday’s game at Hale Stadium against Southeast Missouri would be his last. Reed is in his 11th season at TSU. Attempts to reach Tennessee State athletics director Mikki Allen has been unsuccessful. Stadium’s Brett McMurphy first reported the move, which also was reported by ESPN. George, 47, was a four-time pro bowl running back for the Titans from 1996-2003. He ended his career with Dallas in 2004. George remained in Nashville after retiring from the NFL.
