As he put it, he had “almost zero accomplishments” in wrestling entering his senior season. Like many student-athletes during the pandemic, he began emailing college coaches at the beginning of the school year, hoping a few would give him an opportunity. The Bermudian Springs heavyweight ended up getting one from a national powerhouse. Swenski accepted a preferred walk-on spot at Ohio State last week, choosing the Buckeyes over partial scholarships from smaller Division I schools. Ohio State finished ninth at this year’s national championships after earning second-place finishes the previous three tournaments.
