Mizzou volleyball stumped by No. 9 Ohio State in NCAA second round

No. 9 Ohio State looked dominant Thursday in its second-round matchup against Missouri in the NCAA volleyball tournament. Any questions about the effects of the Buckeyes’ long layoff between matches were answered early and often. Ohio State cruised to the Sweet 16 with a 25-17, 25-20, 25-21 victory over the Tigers at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska.  “Ohio State is a really good volleyball team and they played some pretty volleyball,” Missouri coach Joshua Taylor said. “I don’t think there was a point in the match where we were folding or gave up. I’m pretty proud of our girls today.”  The Tigers positioned themselves for an opportunity to steal the second set, trailing just 15-12 following back-to-back kills from senior Kylie Deberg. She led Missouri with 16 kills against South Dakota on Wednesday and posted 17 against the Buckeyes.
