From Oklahoma to Ohio State to the NFL. Trey Sermon was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft. Even though his time as a Buckeye was short-lived, Sermon made quite the splash in scarlet and gray. Sermon arrived in Columbus after a successful stint with the Sooners, but also coming off of a serious knee injury. After completing his degree at OU, Sermon enrolled at Ohio State as a grad transfer. It took a while for the former Oklahoma running back to get his footing and fully trust his surgically repaired knee. But once he did, he captured the heart of Buckeye Nation. Sermon played the role of back up to Master Teague for most of the season until Teague went down with a concussion in the Big Ten championship game.
