COLUMBUS, Ohio — Even in a college football landscape conditioned to expect transfers, Jameson Williams’ decision to leave Ohio State for Alabama struck some as odd. How does Alabama benefit from someone who could not crack the Buckeyes’ starting receiver group? The same way Justin Fields could not earn the starting job at Georgia but immediately became a Heisman Trophy contender with the Buckeyes.
