Emily Londot 'wants to do the work and be elite': New coach helped elevate Ohio State volleyball

COLUMBUS –  The parallels are unmistakable, albeit on different levels. When just a freshman volleyball player at Utica High School, Emily Londot helped the Redskins get within a win of the state tournament. Collegiate teams were already showing interest, but she didn’t make them wait: she had already decided on Ohio State. Following an unprecedented high school career, in both volleyball and basketball, the 6-foot-3 hitter didn’t wait around to make an impact with the Buckeyes. Although COVID-19 postponed the fall season, Londot immediately made a freshman splash when it returned in the spring. Not only did she earn unanimous first-team All-Big Ten and Big Ten Freshman of the Year. She was National Freshman of the Year, second-team All-America, and most importantly, led OSU (16-4) to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
