Baseball: Buckeyes stuck in middle of pack of Big Ten with just 9 games remaining

Ohio State has a solid baseball team this season, but that likely will not be enough for the Buckeyes to make the 64-team Division I NCAA Tournament. The Big Ten made the interesting decision to play conference-only games this season, which has greatly hurt the RPI for teams across the conference.  Also, there will be no Big Ten Tournament this year — another curious decision by the league — which means the Buckeyes do not have a chance at winning an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament like they did in 2019 (which was the last year it was held due to COVID-19) after marching through the Big Ten tourney and claiming the title. Ohio State has a record of 18-15 this season, which puts them in sixth place in the 13-team Big Ten (Wisconsin does not have a baseball program; also link incorrectly states that OSU’s record is 17-15).…
