Ohio State has a solid baseball team this season, but that likely will not be enough for the Buckeyes to make the 64-team Division I NCAA Tournament. The Big Ten made the interesting decision to play conference-only games this season, which has greatly hurt the RPI for teams across the conference. Also, there will be no Big Ten Tournament this year — another curious decision by the league — which means the Buckeyes do not have a chance at winning an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament like they did in 2019 (which was the last year it was held due to COVID-19) after marching through the Big Ten tourney and claiming the title.
