Ohio State football has 61 OSU Scholar-Athletes for 2020-21

The Ohio State football program is obviously productive on the field. The Buckeyes have won four consecutive Big Ten titles and played in the College Football Playoff national championship game in January. But the Buckeyes also take the “student” part of student-athlete seriously. This was evident once again on Monday when the Scarlet and Gray announced a record 799 OSU Scholar-Athletes across all athletic programs. Sixty-one of those were football players. To be an OSU Scholar-Athlete, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 and above for the 2020-21 academic year. Included in the 61 were 10 players who have been named OSU Scholar-Athlete at least four times and three five-time recipients in Tuf Borland, Gavin Cupp and Jake Hausmann.
