It’s hard to imagine Columbus, Ohio in the fall without Ohio State football. The Buckeyes are baked into the fabric of the city, just like college football teams are across the Big Ten and many other conferences across the country. But in 2020, Ohio State and the Big Ten almost didn’t have college football due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference initially cancelled the fall sports season before reconsidering and bringing football back for a shortened fall 2020 season. As any Buckeye fan knows, the Scarlet and Gray once again went undefeated in the regular season, winning the Big Ten title in Indianapolis against Northwestern before getting revenge on Clemson in the College Football Playoff semifinal and eventually losing to Alabama in the national championship game.
