CLEVELAND, Ohio — Big name prospects often hail from southern states such as Florida, Georgia, Texas, and California. But Massachusetts is definitely an outlier. In the 2021 class, Massachusetts only had one top-200 player in Boston College commit Drew Kendall. In the 2023 class, tight end Preston Zinter wants to be the Bay State’s next big thing. “People would say there’s no real good football players coming out of Massachusetts,” he said. “So I think I have to go and prove I can hang with these southern states.” Zinter attends Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Mass., and received his OSU offer on May 27.
