Tulsa running back Shamari Brooks: Buckeyes’ best opponents, No. 46


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football opens the season Sept. 2 at Minnesota. We are counting down the best 50 players Ohio State will face on that 2021 schedule. 5-9, 190 pounds, senior 2019 stats (missed 2020 due to injury): 227 carries for 1,046 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 4.6 yards per carry. Added 49 yards and one touchdown on nine receptions. What he has done: Brooks should be on the cusp of setting Tulsa’s all-time rushing record by now. After averaging 5.8 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns as a freshman, he became the Golden Hurricanes’ starter in 2018 and ‘19. In the latter season he rushed for 100 or more yards in four games — including 202 in the season finale against East Carolina.
