The Ohio State football program raced out to an early lead in almost every 2022 team recruiting ranking being kept track by multiple services. Put them all together, and the Buckeyes had the coveted No. 1 spot in the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings that uses some of those same major recruiting sites. It some ways, it felt like Ryan Day and staff were going to run away and hide, but that all changed when some updates to the individual ratings occurred, and when the Georgia Bulldogs received a flurry of commitments in early April.
