Quinn Ewers, who currently carries a perfect prospect score and the top spot in the 2022 recruiting rankings? No doubt. Looking back, some of the most essential Buckeyes of the past five years came in with nowhere near those lofty expectations. Thayer Munford barely cracked the national top 300 in the 2017 recruiting rankings. He fought tooth and nail to even be eligible to attend OSU. He will leave as a four-year starter at left tackle. Even in his injury affected middle years — perhaps especially in those years — it is difficult to imagine what the Buckeyes would have done without him.
