Vanguard’s Fred Gaskin threw a pair of touchdown passes and Emile Sancho added a highlight-reel interception in the end zone as the Knights defeated Sanford-Seminole 17-6 in the final of the Florida High School 7v7 Association State Championship Tournament at the Villages Polo Grounds on Saturday. It was the second time during the tournament that Vanguard got the better of the defending Class 8A champions. The Knights also beat the Seminoles 33-21 in pool play on Friday.
