
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State football team has found its 2022 running back in Dallan Hayden of Christian Brothers High School in Tennessee. The nation’s No. 237 player and No. 24 running back chose the Buckeyes on Tuesday over 31 other schools. The Volunteers, Illinois and Notre Dame had emerged as his other top options. Ohio State running backs coach Tony Alford hit a reset on the running back recruiting by landing TreVeyon Henderson and Evan Pryor in 2021. Doing so made up for the misses in 2020 and put OSU in a position where it didn’t have to hit a grand slam in the next cycle. OSU didn’t need a five-star running back, but it needed a quality option, and Hayden qualifies as such.
