San Francisco Giants Select Ohio State Buckeye Seth Lonsway in MLB Draft

The Giants selected Lonsway in the sixth round with pick No. 176.  The 22-year-old Lonsway had the best strikeout rate (21.0 per nine innings) in NCAA Division I baseball in 2020 as a redshirt sophomore, but went unpicked in the following draft — a draft which was limited to five rounds due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This past season, he led the Buckeyes with 98 strikeouts.
