What Treyaun Webb’s commitment to Oklahoma means for Ohio State football


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State came up short on five-star athlete Treyaun Webb when he announced his decision Saturday afternoon, but its ramifications could help determine whether the Buckeyes are able to land two other elite 2023 prospects from Florida. The 6-foot, 188 pounder out of Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Fla., committed to Oklahoma. He chose the Sooners over Ohio State and his previous commitment of Georgia. Webb is the nation’s No. 34 prospect and the No. 4 athlete, according to the 247sports.com composite. Heading to Norman for his collegiate career was no surprise as Webb attended the CHAMPU BBQ in mid-June, which turned out be a gamechanger in his recruitment. He built a bond with Sooners running back coach DeMarco Murray and head coach Lincoln Riley, which led to the commitment.
