Why Ohio State football’s in great position with 2023 class despite lack of a commitment: Buckeyes Recruiting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State football program has yet to land a commitment in its 2023 recruiting class, which hasn’t been the norm in the Ryan Day era. If his first two full classes give off any indication, by Aug. 1 — even with almost 15 months until Signing Day — the Buckeyes would’ve already had a handful of players locked down. That small group of about four or five players would consist of an in-state five-star tasked with being a leader, a few other top players from Ohio and a quarterback. In 2021 their names were Jack Sawyer, Kyle McCord, Jayden Ballard, Ben Christman. In the 2022 class, it’s Jyaire Brown, Tegra Tshabola, C.J. Hicks and Gabe Powers.
