A year ago at this time, there were a lot of questions about what would happen with Ohio State’s football season. The COVID-19 pandemic had the Big Ten presidents concerned about how a college football season would take place and, despite many other conferences going ahead with a season, they were on their way to canceling the year. Once that happened, the Buckeyes focused on trying to convince the conference to reconsider its decision and get a season played. The Scarlet and Gray players, coaches and parents believed they had a way to do so safely, and clearly other conferences agreed. Eventually, the Big Ten presidents came to their senses and scheduled a season, but it was short and, unquestionably, a disaster with games consistently getting canceled.
