
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The decommitment of 2022 five-star cornerback Jaheim Singletary from the Ohio State football program was not a total surprise. But there will be an effect on the next two recruiting cycles because of it. The Buckeyes are back down to three cornerback commits in 2022 and are currently without a five-star corner for the fifth consecutive year. There’s still time for defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs and secondary coach Matt Barnes to change that. Just because Singletary backed off his pledge does not mean that the Buckeyes will stop recruiting him. However, with prior visits to Miami (Florida) and Georgia, the Buckeyes continue to trend in the wrong direction for the No. 13 player and No. 5 CB.
