Quick notes from third practice of Ohio State football preseason camp

Ohio State’s preseason training camp continued Friday morning as the Buckeyes held their third practice outside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Reporters were present for the first four periods, which ran about 45 minutes. Here are some notes and observations. * C.J. Stroud remained first in the line of quarterbacks to rotate through drills, going ahead of fellow redshirt freshman Jack Miller and freshman Kyle McCord. The Buckeyes have publicly maintained there is no pecking order among the passers vying to win the starting job for the upcoming season, but since spring practice, Stroud has been the first up for reps — at least when reporters have been present at workouts — and looked poised. * The running back rotation in drills began with Miyan Williams, the same order as Wednesday when they opened camp.
