© Provided by WSYX – Columbus Buckeye wrestler Kyle Snyder is bringing home silver from the 2020 Olympics. The Olympian came faced to face with a familiar opponent Saturday in the finals. Snyder took on Abdulrashid Sadulaev of the Russian Olympic Committee in the 97kg final. Snyder was the Olympic gold medalist at 97kg in 2016 and is a two-time world champion. Sadulaev was the Olympic gold medalist at 86kg in 2016 and is a four-time world champion. Dubbed the “Russsian Tank” by his competitors, Sadulaev moved up to 97 kg in 2017 and reached the world finals where he was defeated by Snyder. Their past bouts garnered such a following that fans called them “Snyderlaev.” This was the third match up with each wrestler having won once before.
