COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s emerging depth in the secondary is being tested early in preseason camp. Ryan Day said senior cornerback Sevyn Banks “tweaked” something and has missed the last couple of practices. Banks also missed much of the spring with an unspecified injury. “We’re excited to see him get into practice, because he had a really good summer and we’re expecting big things from him this year, but he hasn’t really been out there as much,” Day said. Banks is poised to take over as Ohio State’s No. 1 cornerback. His seven pass breakups were nearly twice as many as any other Buckeye in 2020, to go along with 23 tackles, one interception and a fumble return touchdown in his first season as a starter.
