COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s and women’s fencing programs, along with 33 Buckeye fencers, were honored with academic awards from the United States Fencing Coaches Association. The awards are based on combined fall and spring semester grade-point averages. All-Academic Team honors are awarded to student-athletes with an in-season grade-point average of 3.3 or higher, with Scholar of Distinction accolades presented to student-athletes who had an in-season grade-point average of 3.7 or higher. Both the men’s (3.57) and women’s (3.491) programs were recognized with Team All-Academic Honors for outstanding team grade-point averages. Twenty Ohio State men’s fencers were recognized, with 10 named Scholars of Distinction and 10 earning the All-Academic Award.
