Ohio State, Browns standout player Dick Schafrath has died

Former Ohio State University and Cleveland Browns standout player Dick Schafrath, who later served in the Ohio General Assembly, has died. Schafrath captained the OSU Buckeye team under Coach Woody Hayes and won a national championship. He later blocked for Jim Brown on the Cleveland Browns 1964 NFL championship team. Born in Wooster, Schafrath was drafted by the Browns in the second round in 1959. He became a key player on the offensive line and spent all of his 13 NFL seasons in Cleveland.
