If there’s a great story on the 2021 Ohio State team, it’s Thayer Munford. The fifth-year senior wasn’t a five-star prospect like some of his fellow offensive linemen but is set to start for the Buckeyes for a fourth straight season. He also became the first member of his family to graduate from college in August, something he promised his mother he would do and the major factor why he returned to the Scarlet and Gray for another season. On Friday, Munford’s story got that much better. After passing up the NFL Draft to play for Ohio State again, Munford was named one of six team captains. Voted on by his teammates, Munford joined wide receivers Chris Olave and Kamryn Babb, defensive tackle Haskell Garrett, defensive end Zach Harrison and linebacker Teradja Mitchell as the 2021 Scarlet and Gray’s designated leaders.
