Stroud was named Gannett’s Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, despite not being named the Buckeyes starter until the day after balloting finished. In fact, the reporters who cover the Big Ten for Gannett newspapers unanimously picked the Buckeyes to win the league. Ohio State also landed eight players on the preseason All-Big Ten team, including quarterback C.J. Stroud, who was named preseason Offensive Player of the Year.
