The first regular-season loss of Day’s tenure came not by accident, or officiating whim, or by simply being out manned by a superior roster. No. 12 Oregon limited the No. 3 Buckeyes’ playmakers, carved up a unsettled defense and emerged with a 35-28 victory at Ohio Stadium. Day now faces his biggest in-season challenge in his three seasons. How does Ohio State respond, and can it solve the myriad deficiencies in time to continue its Big Ten dominance and make a playoff run?
