COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football players who were not even in middle school in 2014 know the legacy that Buckeyes team left behind. By winning the inaugural College Football Playoff series, that team proved an early upset loss did not necessarily capsize a season. Those Buckeyes looked like anything but a championship team in a 35-21 home loss to Virginia Tech in their second game. By the end of the season, they were dominant. “Obviously, there’s a lesson,” senior defensive end Haskell Garrett said after Saturday’s 35-28 home loss to Oregon. “We need to get on the film (Sunday) and make the proper corrections.
