Who has the easier path back into the College Football Playoff race between Ohio State football and Clemson?


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Welcome to Week 3 of Clemson-Alabama Watch on the road to the College Football Playoff. There was always a chance that the playoffs would feature a handful of one-loss teams similar to 2017 when no one was undefeated by the postseason. It’s also the only year where a conference had more than one team make it when Georgia lost to Alabama in the National Championship Game. The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide again look poised to repeat history in 2021, while others fight for the last two spots. Clemson claimed one of those in 2017 as the No. 1 seed while Ohio State was left on the outside. That Buckeyes team lost twice, and no two-loss team has made it and probably never will until the format is expanded. So here we are once again.
