
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State football program has to respond after a loss for the first time in the Ryan Day era. Day’s lost games before, but they happened in the College Football Playoff, bringing an end to the season. Losing to Oregon doesn’t do that. There are still 10 games to play and a chance for the Buckeyes to climb their way back into the playoff conversation. A game against Tulsa provides the first chance for OSU to improve in a game where the outcome is essentially already decided. This week a win isn’t a proper measuring stick — it’s about showing improvement on defense while its quarterback C.J. Stroud continues to progress.
