COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football has not instilled much confidence in bettors this season, having been favored in all three games thus far and failing to cover that spread. A matchup with lowly Akron re-instilled that confidence. Circa Sports made the Buckeyes a 53-point favorite with its opening line for Saturday’s game at Ohio Stadium. That line quickly dropped to 49, which still makes them a seven-touchdown favorite. According to the Odds Shark database, Ohio State has not been a 50-plus point favorite since it was a 52-point favorite at Rutgers in 2019. The Buckeyes did not cover in a 56-21 victory.
