
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Prior to the season, it was natural to wonder how Ohio State football opponents would limit the receiver tandem of Chris Olave and Garett Wilson. Turns out we had our answer only three games in. One week after piling up 12 receptions against Oregon, Olave had none against Tulsa. It was his first game without a catch since Oct. 5, 2019, against Michigan State. That broke a string of 17 games played with at least one reception. Olave said Tulsa’s willingness to drop eight in coverage made his day more difficult. “I didn’t have any catches, but the stats don’t really matter,” Olave said. “I just want to get the win at the end of the day.” Bad luck also contributed to that goose egg.
