COLUMBUS, Ohio — There are no rebuilding seasons at Ohio State. Same at Alabama and Clemson, where a standard has been established and the talent never stops. That was made clear for the Buckeyes in 2014, when a team of sophomores expected to rise up as juniors in 2015 went out and won a national title a year early. That ended the idea of early. Every year is now, because every season could bring a title. So this isn’t a rebuilding season for the Buckeyes, who haven’t had one of those since 2004, when they went 8-4 while transitioning from the players who won the national title in 2002 to the players who would push for titles in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
