Ohio State offers a pair of top-tier Florida linebackers: Buckeyes Recruiting Roundup


COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Buckeyes’ recent defensive issues have been an ongoing storyline this season. For linebacker coach Al Washington and the rest of the staff, that means not only shoring up this year’s squad, but continuing to stay ahead in the classes to come. Ohio State will gladly welcome commits CJ Hicks and Gabe Powers to the brotherhood in 2022, but after that, there is a lot of uncertainty. The Buckeyes extended a pair of offers recently, including two rising linebacker targets out of Florida. Ohio State has targeted the Sunshine State aggressively in the 2023 class with 19 offers, the most of any state in that class. The Buckeyes have extended three of their eight 2024 offers to Florida players. The state is tied with California, who have all three offers going to players from national powerhouse St. John Bosco.
