Which Ohio State football players are unavailable against Rutgers, and which starters are back?


PISCATAWAY, New Jersey — Ohio State football will have some, but not all, of its missing defensive starters back for Saturday’s game at Rutgers. Defensive tackle Taron Vincent and cornerback Cameron Brown, who both sat out last week’s victory over Akron, do not appear on the status report for the game at SHT Stadium. Neither does defensive end Javontae Jean-Baptiste. However, Tyreke Smith remains unavailable. The senior defensive end started the Buckeyes’ first three games. Ohio State’s status report does not provide distinction for whether players are missing games due to injury, illness or disciplinary reasons. Running back Miyan WIlliams is unavailable, which removes any debate as to who will get reps behind TreVeyon Henderson tonight. Ohio State coach Ryan Day had indicated Master Teague was practicing well and earning snaps as the “hot hand.” However, he also said Williams has missed at least some practice time in recent weeks…
