
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Caleb Burton was the nation’s No. 1 wide receiver when he committed to Ohio State football last fall. Then he got hurt. Since then, he’s tumbled down the recruiting rankings, even losing his five-star status. Now, he’s the nation’s No. 40 player and No. 4 wide receiver. He switched schools for his senior year, transferring from Del Valle to Lake Travis High School in Texas, which is the same school that produced OSU wide receiver Garrett Wilson and Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. The former is why the move is interesting. Burton may have the same explosive skillset that Wilson had as a freshman in 2019 as a guy capable of killing you both as outside and slot receiver.
