
COLUMBUS, Ohio — It is difficult to game plan for turnovers, except perhaps when your team has to face Iowa. The Hawkeyes lead the nation in turnovers created with 16. That includes seven turnovers forced in last week’s 51-13 victory at Maryland. Iowa intercepted quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa five times and, as it has throughout its climb to No. 3 in the AP Top 25 poll, used its defense to fuel its offense. Ohio State has created nine turnovers in five games. It has already equaled last year’s interception total with seven. Yet as the Buckeyes measure themselves against the rest of a surging Big Ten with four other teams ranked in the AP’s top 11, Saturday’s game could reveal how far this defense has come.
