
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Welcome to Week Seven of Clemson-Alabama Watch on the road to the College Football Playoff. C.J. Stroud put up another historic day while leading Ohio State football to a win over Maryland. A few hours later, Bryce Young found out how it felt to fail at saving your team when Alabama lost to Texas A&M. Young now sits in the same spot Stroud was in after OSU lost to Oregon in Week 2, except no one’s calling for his job. Young played well against the Aggies but wasn’t good enough to win. In both situations, having a loss before the end of October doesn’t kill any College Football Playoff chances. The Buckeyes have since grown from the loss as Stroud commands the best offense in the country.
