Buckeyes favored by 18 over Penn State; have win probability of 87%

Ohio State has opened as 18-point favorites over visiting Penn State on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET; ABC). The No. 5 Buckeyes (6-1, 4-0 Big Ten) also have a win probability over the No. 20 Nittany Lions (5-2, 2-2) of 87 percent, per ESPN’s Football Power Index. Ohio State is one of the hottest teams in the country and is coming off a 54-7 drubbing of Indiana in Bloomington. Penn State was ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation as recently as three weeks ago, but has suffered consecutive losses to Iowa (23-20 in Iowa City) and in what was a wild game at home to Illinois (20-18 in an NCAA-record nine overtimes).
