CHICAGO — Four-star wide receiver Kaleb Brown’s recruitment was unlike what Todd Kuska is accustomed to during his 24 years as head football coach at St. Rita of Cascia High School. The all-male institution in Southwest Chicago has produced NFL players Kenny Golladay, Mike Kafka, Darius Fleming, Matthew Conrath and Pat O’Connor under Kuska, All great talents but only Fleming’s recruitment — a class of 2008 commit to Notre Dame — rivals Brown’s. “We have had some good ones and Kaleb ranks right up there with them,” Kuska told cleveland.com. “The things he can do on the field: speed, agility, toughness — he’s got it all.” Those “good ones” that Kuska refers to did not have the heart of their recruitment take place during a pandemic.
