COLUMBUS, Ohio — Penn State’s active, aggressive defensive line set the tone early in Saturday’s game against Ohio State. The Buckeyes’ defensive line responded with a game-changing play. Defensive ends Tyreke Smith and Zach Harrison met in the pocket at Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford. Harrison reached around to knock the ball loose, and OSU defensive tackle Jerron Cage had the presence of mind to pick it up and take off. With linebacker Cody Simon helping as the lead blocker, Cage rolled for a 57-yard fumble return touchdown and a 17-7 Ohio State lead with 2:24 to play in the first half. It was the sixth defensive touchdown Ohio State has scored in eight games. Ohio State had just taken the lead, 10-7, on its previous offensive possession on C.J.
