
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State’s first victory over a ranked team did not result in a jump in the college football rankings. In fact, the Buckeyes dropped a spot and are no longer the top-ranked team in the Big Ten, again. Ohio State dropped one spot to No. 6 in the AP Top 25 poll after Saturday’s 33-24 victory over then-No. 20 Penn State. Michigan State, by virtue of its 38-34 victory over previous No. 6 Michigan, jumped three spots to No. 5. Oregon, which also has one loss but beat OSU head to head on Sept. 11, held at No. 7.
