Ohio State basketball routes Division II Indianapolis 82-46, providing a preview of what’s to come


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State basketball won its only tune-up ahead of the 2021-22 season in an 82-46 win over Indianapolis and provided hints into how this season may go in the process. Louisiana transfer Cedric Russell was the only player who didn’t play in the first half where the minute distribution was spread as evenly as possible, showing off every possible look fans could see this season. The Buckeyes were the clearly more talented team in a game that often was about a scrappy underdog fighting to compete with a superior team that was thinking with its parts. They never trailed and led by as much as 36 points. Russell eventually saw action as the first man off the bench in the second half. There were positives and negatives to take away from the performance, even if the competition was a Divison II team that went 11-12 last season.…
