
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State basketball kicked off its 2023 recruiting class with a commitment from George Washington III of Christian Academy Of Louisville in Kentucky. The four-star recruit is the nation’s No. 50 player and No. 9 combo guard. He’s the first player from Kentucky to commit to the Buckeyes since D’Angelo Russell did so in 2014. His other offers were Auburn, Liberty, Louisville and Tennessee doing so on his official visit to attend the Penn State game over the weekend. Washington has the ability to play either guard position as an efficient playmaker who can constantly make shots from three-point range. He’s a player capable of having an immediate impact for a team that could lose its starting shooting guard after the 2022-23 season depending on the development of Malaki Branham.
