
LINCOLN, Nebraska — Ohio State football will play at Nebraska today without one of its most explosive offensive players. Leading receiver Garrett Wilson was listed as unavailable on the Buckeyes’ status report. The report does not specify injury, illness or other reasons for absences. Wilson has never previously missed a game. Wilson ranks third among Big Ten Conference receivers in repetitions (49), third in yards (687) and tied for second in touchdowns with six. Along with Chris Olave and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, he forms arguably the best three-receiver tandem in the country. Wilson’s absence likely means bigger roles for second-string receivers such as Julian Fleming, Emeka Egbuka and Marvin Harrison Jr. While Smith-Njigba has worked primarily in the slot, all of those receivers could line up at various spots in the offense.
