LINCOLN, Neb. — Before Ohio State football and Nebraska began their competition on the field, they engaged in a battle of words beforehand. Nebraska players apparently took exception to the Buckeyes standing on their side of the 50-yard line during pregame warmups. Words were exchanged and OSU staff got in the middle to break up the incident before a scuffle of any kind could ensue. Ohio State is 5-0 against the Cornhuskers in an annual crossover series that ends this season, and only one game was decided by fewer than 35 points. Nebraska has lost five of its last six games by a total of 24 points. So, internal tensions may be high.
